This year we went to see the Maia Zoo.

International children's day
On 1-06-2008 Oliveira Sá has opened it's doors for the little one's!
A visit to both factories was organised in Maia and Beire for the kids of the employees to meet the place were their parents work.
All went well and the little one's were very happy!

Oliveira Sá aproved by Germanischer Lloyd
Cordoaria Oliveira Sá has been approved for independent testing and certifying of steel wire ropes up to 80 mm diameter without end attachements in accordance with the rules and guidelines of Germanischer Loyd.
The certificate number is GL-134 and is valid until 11-10-2010.

Oliveira Sá aproved by Lloyd's Register
Cordoaria Oliveira Sá has been approved as a manufacturer in accordance with the requirements of Lloyd's Register for Steel Wire Ropes up to a maximum of 60mm diameter. The approval is subject to compliance with the Rules for the Manufacture, Testing and Certification of Materials. The new certificate (Certificate No. MD00/0347/0003/11 is valid until the 10th January 2008.

After hard work developed by our R&D department, We have now the new tables of Non Rotating Steel Wire Ropes for Industrial Purposes.
The new constructions are the 24 and 35 strand steel wire ropes, but both compacted.

Increase in steel price
Since last December, China has suddenly increased, due to it's context of strong economic growth, the demand for iron and steel, causing a market distortion that reflected in stock rupture, lack of supply and a brutal increase in prices.
The metallurgic companies had to adjust the market conditions, reducing the validity of new supply orders, and warning their clients to future changes in prices.

The ceremony happened on the 12 th of February 2004 when, after the visit to both factories, the APCER's director Mr. Rui Oliveira awarded the certificate to Mr. Luis Sá in the presence of everyone involved in the project. (more info...)
